Prevent Razor Bumps, Ingrown Hair and Skin Diseases

  • Shave in the direction of the hair growth
  • Use a single blade disposable razor like Bic for Sensitive Skin or PFB Bump Fighter
  • Use your razor once or twice then discard
  • Shave area once
  • Use an acne safe wash, fragrance-free shave cream or a gel cleanser containing benzoyl peroxide
  • If using an electric shaver, use professional disinfectant spray before and after shaving to disinfect and lubricate the blades
  • Do not tamper the skin introducing secondary bacteria
  • Do not use rotary shavers to cut beards
  • Do not use depilatory creams or shaving powders

If you use hair trimmers or clippers, they must be kept absolutely clean to avoid spreading acne bacteria or lesson the chance of spreading contagious skin disease. This includes home use! See videos below. If you go to a barber or beauty shop, make sure you see the barber or stylist clean after they cut or trim hair. The bottom line: If you are not comfortable with what you see in a salon or barber shop, the best thing you can do is leave.
